Samsung on production of the new processor for mobile phones .

Qualcomm Incorporated announced that her company, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. (QTI), and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, have expanded their strategic cooperation over a decade to produce the latest Qualcomm processor called Snapdragon 835, with process technology of Samsung FinFET 10 nanometers.
The decision to use the process of cutting Samsung's next-generation processors premium highlights the continued commitment of Qualcomm Technologies to be the technology leader in mobile platforms.

"We are happy to proceed with Samsung to work together to develop products that lead the mobile industry," said Keith Kressin, senior vice-president of product management at Qualcomm Technologies. Inc. "Using this new node in the process 10nm, it is expected to allow the processor Our Snapdragon 835 level premium that offer greater efficiency of energy and increase performance by allowing us also to add new skills which can improve user experience to mobile devices of tomorrow.

Samsung said that they are the first in the industry who have entered the mass production of 10nm technology FinFET. Compared with its predecessor FinFET 14nm, 10nm Samsung technology allows an increase of up to 30% efficiency in the area having 27% or higher performance up to 40% lower consumption of energy. Using 10nm FinFET, 835 Snapdragon processor will offer a smaller footprint chip, giving OEMs more usable space within the next products to support larger battery or thinner designs. Process improvement, combined with a more advanced design of the chip, is expected to bring about significant improvements in battery life.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to work closely with Qualcomm Snapdragon Technologies in the production of 835 using our 10nm technology FinFET" said Jong Shik Yoon, executive vice president of Business Group at Samsung Electronics. "This collaboration is an important milestone for our business because it implies confidence in the leading chip technology of Samsung."
Snapdragon 835 is currently in production and is expected to be distributed in commercial devices in the first half of 2017. Snapdragon 835 Snapdragon processor follows 820/21, which has over 200 designs in development.
